Al Hilal secured a 2-1 victory over Al Nassr in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup, handing a blow to their rivals' title aspirations.

Despite Cristiano Ronaldo's brace for Al Nassr, goals from Luciano Vietto and Salem Al-Dawsari sealed the win for Al Hilal.

The match was a tightly contested affair, with both sides creating chances. However, it was Al Hilal who took the lead in the first half through Vietto's close-range finish.

Ronaldo levelled the scores in the second half with a stunning free-kick, but Al Hilal regained their advantage just minutes later when Al-Dawsari headed home a cross from the right.

Al Nassr pressed for an equaliser but were unable to find a way through the resolute Al Hilal defence.

The result leaves Al Hilal as the favourites to win the Saudi Super Cup, while Al Nassr's title hopes have been dented.
